I start by doing a series of crunches.. I do 30 of each kind. Then I start with the oblique exercises. I hope this helps! :)
1. Crunches with legs flat on the floor

2. Crunches with knees bent and feet on the floor

3. Crunches with legs straight in the air

4. Crunches with legs bent to the right side

5. Crunches with knees bent to the left side

6. Pelvic lifts

6. Planks (I hold for at least 30 seconds)

7. Side planks (15 seconds at least on both sides)

8. Russian twists with a 10 lb weight (30 twists, rest & repeat)

9. Side bends with at least a 15 lb weight

5 Reasons Your Workout Isn’t Working
1. Your workout routine is making you eat too much - Think your 45-minute morning run was enough to burn off that slice of chocolate cake on the dessert menu? Consider this: the average, 140-pound woman burns about 476 calories (at a 10-minute mile pace) running for 45 minutes. The average restaurant dessert clocks in around 1,200 calories (or more), so even if you only eat half of a slice, you’d still easily eat away your run—and then some—in less than 10 minutes.
2. Your workout completely wipes you out - That 5:00am killer boot camp class seemed like a great way to get in shape, so why aren’t the pounds dropping off? If your workout leaves you feeling completely drained, exhausted, sore, and just wanting to lie on the couch for the rest of the day, it could be doing more harm than good, says Alex Figueroa, a personal trainer and fitness instructor at the Sports Club/LA in Boston, MA. While your workouts should be challenging, pushing your body too hard can have the opposite affect on your body. Over training can cause everything from sugar cravings, a weakened immune system, and insomnia—all of which could contribute to weight gain.
3. Your workout burns fewer calories than you think - Feeling pretty righteous when the treadmill says you’ve torched 800 calories? Not so fast, cautions Olson. An unusually high calorie burn reading is rare, Olson says, and most machines overestimate readings by as much as 30 percent.
4. Your workout’s not balanced - Doing only cardio workouts or the same strength workout over and over means you are sacrificing the opportunity to build lean muscle mass and challenge your body in new ways (translation: burn more calories doing something new), and you may plateau because of it.
5. Your workout is totally stale - Doing the same workout routine over and over means your body doesn’t have to work as hard to perform it after a few weeks. “We ‘learn’ how to do any activity and movements,” Olson says. “The more ‘learned’ we are, the easier the activity is to our bodies, which means you will actually burn fewer calories than you did when the activity or your routine was new to you.”

Today, I have two lessons.
Lesson 1, Dressing For Your Body
This is the result of NOT dressing for your body. This is trying to squeeze into clothing that does not fit you. This is trying to squeeze into clothing that is not designed for your body type. I friggen shoved my hips into a size 0. Like it was a struggle. I can fit in a size 0, but do you see how unflattering that is? Muffin-top status, darling. My hips were NOT made for a size zero, either. These hips are wide-set. If I wasn’t as confident and self aware as I am and was like “Ohh I hope I fit!!!” and saw this? I would probably be crushed, think I was fat, and have my entire day ruined. If you can fit comfortably into a size 0, then hey! that’s great, you’re not forcing your body into something that doesn’t fit. Can’t fit into a size 0? Then go up until you find your size! Can’t fit into a size 5? Again, find your proper size! Dressing in the proper clothing size will flatter your body so much more than trying to squeeze into something too small or opting for something too big. Also, take note: The size 5’s didn’t fit me either. I’m usually a size 5, or 3/4, and absolutely nothing fit me. At all. At that point I gave up ‘cause by size 5 the leg part was getting too baggy. Not all brands are made the same! Search until you find something that fits your body properly, who the heck cares what size it is? If you rock a size 4, then rock that size 4. If you rock a size 10, then rock that size 10. Don’t force yourself into something smaller, and don’t hide behind something larger! Neither have positive effects on your self-esteem!
Lesson 2….
Okay, I fit into a size 0. Now what? Where are all the boys who are supposed to be lusting after me? Or all the jealous girls? I mean, obviously my body can fit into a size 0 (very uncomfortably, but it can) so where’s this friggen pixie dust magic crap that’s supposed to make my life amazing? When I put those shorts on, why didn’t I feel like some sex kitten or like I was on top of the world? Where’s all this confidence and happiness and magic that’s supposed to come with being a size 0? Absolutely nothing changed between the time I put those shorts on and then took them off. Nobody cares. I don’t care. The girl shopping in the same section as me? she didn’t friggen care. The guys walking around the store? Didn’t friggen care. So tell me, what’s being a size 0 supposed to do for me?
Please note, I’m not bashing anybody who actually is a size 0. I’m just making a point that it’s not realistic for everybody to be that naturally slim, or for their bodies to be that size. Some people, sure! Their bodies can comfortably go down to a size 0. Is it realistic for EVERYBODY? Heck no! Get to know your body. Ignore what the size says. All you need that size number for is to know what size to get next time you need a new pair of pants. It is absolutely worthless otherwise.
This post is amazing.. couldn’t have said it better :)
it’s not worth it!
